A E Lemmon (1889-1963) Artist & Craftsman The stained glass windows and other art works of a Midlands craftsman.

A E Lemmon (1889-1963) Artist and Craftsman is devoted to the life and work of this Bromsgrove artist-craftsman and his son Peter. Alfred Albert Lemmon was born in Ladywood, Birmingham and trained at the Birmingham School of Art from 1903-1909.

In about 1911, Lemmon became an assistant to A J Davies in the stained glass studio at the Bromsgrove Guild. In 1927, Lemmon established his own studio in Bromsgrove undertaking commissions for stained glass windows and the decorative arts. His stained glass windows and decorative art work, including painted altarpieces, altar crosses and candlesticks, church wardens’ staves and processional crosses, painted panels and banners, are to be found mainly in the West Midlands and Lincolnshire.

This book has gazetteers of stained glass windows and decorative artwork, a bibliography and index. Twenty-eight photographs, twenty-there in colour, illustrate the range of works produced by this designer craftsman.
